Outlook Festival 2012 Producer Competition

Outlook, Europe’s biggest bass music and soundsystem culture festival held in Croatia are looking for music producers to upload an original production that you could imagine being played at the festival. To enter upload your track making sure that you name the track ‘YOUR NAME – Outlook Festival 2012 Competition Entry’, tag it with ‘Outlook Competition 2012′ then use the Outlook Festival Producers competition artwork as your cover art which can be downloaded from here.
Prize:1st place receives an all-expenses paid trip to the 2012 Outlook Festival in Croatia which includes: a return flight to the festival (or up to £250 contribution towards travel, whichever is lesser), airport transfers and ten dub-plates of their winning tune plus a G-SPEED Q, courtesy of G- Technology by Hitachi, and an Impulse 61 complete with gig bag from Novation. Two runners up will also win two tickets to this year’s Outlook Festival each and, courtesy of G- Technology by Hitachi, a G-DRIVE Slim.
Rules:Applicants must be 18 years or older. The prize is up to £250 towards travel and so this could leave people who are a long distance away from Croatia with money left to pay to attend. The festival is a bass music festival so they are looking for tracks that would be played at the festival. Producer’s must gain over 500 plays to be considered to progress from Round 1 and later on producer’s must then gain over 100 favourites to be considered for the short list.

DMC Online DJ Championship 2012 Round 1

There are 3 rounds to this contest each lasting a month with a final schedule for August which is voted on by public and DMC World Champion DJs. This is Round 1. Submit a turntablist 2 minute DJ set showing off your turntable skills as a video entry. Entries should be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or MUZU.
In this round, 3 publicly voted and 7 DJs chosen by DMC World Champions will go through to the final. The final grand prize is $3000 cash and an all expenses trip to the September DMC WORLD FINALS in London with the option to compete live for the ultimate DJ title or just simply join the world's National DJ champions as a VIP spectator. Two runners-up (as selected by DMC) will also receive prizes from the sponsors.
Rules:There are no limitations on the equipment the DJs wish to use in their performances. Each DJ should introduce themselves by showing their face on camera to confirm their identity in their performances.

To enter this Songwriting Award by Shure and BMI you have to upload a video of yourself performing an original song live. This should be an entire performance that is one continuous and static shot. You must accompany yourself as no band, backing tracks or commercial videos will be eligible.
Prize:Opportunity to professionally develop your talent and skills including the opportunity to perform in live showcase events in London by receiving a place on a one-year Cert HE in Songwriting course delivered in London, UK commencing in October 2012 and worth over £5000. One runner up receives the opportunity to attend the same course at a heavily discounted price.

Hit Like A Girl: Drumming Contest

Female drummers can enter a video and short bio into this contest to enter. The video can be in any drumming style, solo performance or with a band, but only the first 3 minutes of the video will be judged. Videos need to be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and then submitted to the contest.

Rio + 20 Global Youth Music Contest

To enter you need to embed a link of a video that you have uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo showing you performing songs. The content of your songs need to relate to one or more of the seven critical issues (Jobs, Energy, Cities, Food, Water, Oceans and Disasters) and/or the two focus themes of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Green Economy, Poverty Eradication). The winners will travel to and perform at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (The Rio+20 Earth Summit) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 20 to 22 June 2012. Travel and accommodation at the Rio+20 Earth Summit will be covered by the IAAI.
Rules:Open to both Children below the age of 15 and Youth from the age of 15 to 30 from all countries around the world. Your musical performances will need to be of your own origin, traditionals or you must own the rights to the songs you perform.
