Buitoni Jingle Contest

Music Contest Info:

Write a jingle for Buitoni (they make pasta and sauces). Your jingle can be entered as either written lyrics or submitted as a video. The jingle should be approximately 45 seconds in length which spoken and include the name "Buitoni a minimum of 3 times. To enter you have to 'Like' the Buitoni Facebook page and submit a jingle through the Facebook app.

Prize:

The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 check and their Buitoni Jingle will be played for two weeks on the radio. All five finalists will receive a one year supply of Buitoni.

Rules:

Only open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are aged 18 years or older. Entrants whose entries are chosen as one of the five finalists irrevocably assign any and all rights, title and interest in their entry to the Sponsor.

Axtone DJ Competition

Music Contest Info:

To enter upload a 30 minute DJ warm up mix to Mixcloud, making sure that you title your entry as Axtone Presents Competition Mix including your name, the country you live in and anything else you think is of interest in the description. You also have to tag your entry and include the artwork.

Prize:

Opening DJ set at Amnesia, Miami on 21st March 201 and Surfcomber, Miami on 25th March 2012 including a return economy flight to Miami and accommodation for duration of stay. $500 spending money and chance to meet Axwell, Thomas Gold and the team plus Axtone merchandise.

Rules:

Entrants must be over 21 and be available to travel between Tuesday 20 March – Monday 26 March inclusive. One entry per person. Mixes must gain over 100 plays be considered for the shortlist.

The 2012 John Lennon Songwriting Contest Session I

To enter The John Lennon Songwriting Contest you need to submit a 5 minute or less song along with a lyric sheet (if your song has lyrics). The categories are: Rock, Country, Jazz, Pop, World, Rhythm & Blues, Hip Hop, Gospel/Inspirational, Latin, Electronic, Folk, and Children's. Instrumental compositions are encouraged. You song doesn't need to have been professionally recorded as entries are being judged on originality, melody, composition, and lyrics.

Prize:

The song of the year (split over the two sessions) will win a $20,000 check, an Avid prize pack, a Mackie mixer and a pair of Mackie Studio Monitors plus a $1,000 scholarship to Digital Media Academy. The 12 Lennon award winners receive $1000 in Mackie and Ampeg Products. The 24 grand prize winners receive a 6,500 in Project Studio Equipment from Avid, Roland and Boss, Audio-Technica, Gibson Guitars and Epiphone, and Propellerhead. Neutrik special edition John Lennon Educational Tour Bus connectors and cable and a one year subscription to Guitar Player, Bass Player, Keyboard, or EQ Magazine.

Rules:

There is an entry fee of $30.00 per song. Songs may not exceed five minutes in length. Open to amateur and professional songwriters.

Indaba Music: Weekly Brief February 15, 2012

Music Contest Info:

This week's Indaba Music Weekly Brief they want you to use the provided Saxophone improvisations recorded by Timo and incorporate them into a new, original piece of music. Your music can be in any style or genre. The Saxophone recordings were recorded at 100 BPM. Completed tracks should be submitted to Indaba Music.

Prize:

Up to 10 selected Indaba Music users chosen by the judges will receive $50 cash and be eligible for licensing to third-party clients through the Indaba Music Licensing Catalog

Rules:

Open to individuals who over the age of 13. Submission must be your own work and not previously been published. No more than 3 submissions per entrant. The entrant shall own the copyright to their submission. To enter you need to be registered member on Indaba Music. A free member gets to enter 3 locked opportunities per year for free unless they purchase a Pro membership on Indaba allowing them to enter unlimited opportunities.

DMC Online DJ Championship 2012 Round 1

Music Contest Info:

There are 3 rounds to this contest each lasting a month with a final schedule for August which is voted on by public and DMC World Champion DJs. This is Round 1. Submit a turntablist 2 minute DJ set showing off your turntable skills as a video entry. Entries should be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or MUZU.

Prize:

In this round, 3 publicly voted and 7 DJs chosen by DMC World Champions will go through to the final. The final grand prize is $3000 cash and an all expenses trip to the September DMC WORLD FINALS in London with the option to compete live for the ultimate DJ title or just simply join the world's National DJ champions as a VIP spectator. Two runners-up (as selected by DMC) will also receive prizes from the sponsors.

Rules:

There are no limitations on the equipment the DJs wish to use in their performances. Each DJ should introduce themselves by showing their face on camera to confirm their identity in their performances.

Brad's Raw Foods Jingle Contest

Music Contest Info:

Create a jingle for Brad's Raw Foods. There should be a 15 to 30 second jingle and also a one minute version of the jingle to be able to enter. There are some keywords to help you out which are: Brad’s Raw Chips, Brad’s Leafy Kale, Living Enzymes, Raw Diet, Raw Lifestyle, Raw Healthy Snack, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Healthy Lifestyle, Dehydrated – not baked or fried, Meal in a Bag. Completed jingles should be uploaded sent to the email address on the jingle contest page.

Prize:

The winning jingle will be used as one of the official jingles for Brad’s Raw Foods and will be aired across the US and the world with the musician who created it receiving $2,000 and some serious promotion.

Rules:

All genre of music are welcome as background music to the jingle. The author of the awarded jingle gives all rights to Brad’s Raw Foods LLC as the sole owner of the final selected jingle.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition

Music Contest Info:

This opportunity by The Pittsburgh Symphony is open to musicians to give a solo performance on one of these 10 instruments: piano, violin, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, trumpet, bassoon, or harp. To enter you have to submit a video of up to 10 minutes in length showing the performance of a work that you would perform in concert, if you were selected as the grand prize winner. The work you choose must be from the selected repetoire which can viewed here.

Prize:

The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 check, the opportunity to perform your solo piece with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on November 30, 2012 and December 2, 2012 which include a round trip from a major airport near winner’s home to Pittsburgh, accommodations. 4 finalists receive a trip for to Pittsburgh to perform in the live audition on June 11, 2012.

Show Me the Music 2012 Songwriting Contest

Show Me the Music songwriting contest is back for 2012 and you can enter submit your songs online or through the mail, the entry details are on this page. Songs will be judged on melody, song structure, originality, and lyrics and will not be judged on production quality or vocals. Here is the video for the 2011 winning song.

Prize:

There are two prize packages which you can choose from. Package A is $10,000 USD, Broadjam Primo Mob Membership, featured spot on Show Me the Music website, 500 fully packaged CDs of the winning song by Copycats Media, Show Me the Music T-shirt and certificate. Package B is $3,000 USD to use towards airfare, hotel and spending money for full day recording session at the Castle Recording Studio in Franklin, TN. Nashville "A" list studio musicians to record the winning song, fully mixed and mastered CD of the winning song, mentor session and more.

Rules:

Contest has an entry fee of $30 for the first song or $20 for additional songs after the first.. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Entrants retain all ownership rights to every song submitted. Open to all amateur and professional songwriters.
